On our first day in Poland, it was about 2 PM when we landed. By the time we rented the car, and figured out how to navigate the Polish road system, we arrive at the Best Western Hotel at about 4 PM. We were tired from our long flight, so on the first evening we just
got dinner and walked around a bit to get our bearings in the Old Town. We did stop in at the Church of Saints Peter and Paul.
The next day was a full day of Krakow sightseeing. The first thing we did was walk over to Wawel hill, where the castle and cathedral stand. Tickets for the castle sell out early, so we didn't want to miss out.
Here is a map of Old Town Kraków. I put red boxes around all of the sites that we visited. The Best Western location is identified with a green box, showing what an ideal location that was for our stay. The yellow box
shows the Rynek Underground, which we wanted to see but missed out because tickets were always sold out. We learned on our last day that you can purchase your ticket the day before at the ticket office (located on the
north western corner of the Cloth Hall, the entrance is on the north eastern corner of the Cloth Hall). I wish we had known ahead of time about the option for getting advance tickets, that was the only sight in Kraków that we wanted to see but missed out on.
