Lincoln City to Waldport

52 miles, 332 miles trip total

September 13th

There was fog today along the coast. When the route took us a little bit inland, then everything cleared up. But when we were alongside the water, the fog could obscure the views when we stopped at various pulloffs. We were on route 101 the entire day, except for a brief stretch on a quiet side road called Otter Crest Loop.

At Cape Foulweather, they told us that whales could be seen offshore - not all of the whales complete the migration to Alaska, some stayed in the Oregon waters. But it was too foggy to see anything in the ocean.

In a quest for coffee, we ended up at the Newport Aquarium. But alas, the coffee bar was closed at the aquarium that day.

In the afternoon we were gifted a nice steady tailwind, I was riding 17 or 18 mph down Highway 101 as we rolled into Waldport.

The Waldport Air B-n-B did have a grill, so Ramone and I rode to the market to get some food to cook up, plus some coffee pods for the Keurig machine.

We rode to Waldport today.
